How could I keep my dog from biting wires?
ByI just brought home a new puppy and he seems to be always biting my wires attached to my computer so I am afraid that he might accidentally electrocute himself.

Two things, make sure they have long, hard approved things to chew. They are liking the size and shape and material so stick to that. Say “NO” and then give them a nylabone etc. and praise them.
There is a product called Alum that you can get in your spice aisle at the grocery store. It is a tasteless white powder but it super bitter. Make a bit of a slurry with the alum and water and paint it on the cords. If they chew it it will be a bitter but safe taste in their mouth. You can get bitter apple sprays at the pet store but the alum is cheaper and doesn’t have a taste.

Put the wires somewhere where he cant reach them. When you cannot watch him like a hawk, he needs to be in a crate or an x pen, to keep your house from destruction, and to keep him safe.
Do Not Ever let him out of your sight. Ever.

Give your dog’s something else to chew on, like marrow bones. Or chew toys. And coat the wires with Cajun pepper, or something spicy, sour, bitter, or anything to make them stop. Mostly what i did, was that stuff i explained, and gave them more things to do.
i have 3 dogs, and they all stopped chewing cords after around 1 week by doing these things.

I had this problem. I unplugged the unit and wrapped a thick cloth around the wires. I sprayed a can of the spray that keeps dogs off furniture all over it, then covered it in the sour spray to prevent chewing. Make sure there are no exposed wires before the spray. I’m not sure which one of the sprays worked but my dog pushed on the wire, smacked at it with his foot, but stopped chewing. Within the hour, I noticed he left it alone completely. I watched for a few days to be sure I had won this battle (I’ve lost plenty) and plugged it back in with no problems. Cloth is still in place.
