I got 2 of them myself, one has kind of floppy ears, and the other has ears like a fox. The older one with floppy ears is approx 2 years old, and the younger one is 6 months behind him.
In my personal dealings with these dogs specifically, i have noticed genetic traits take over, and this will determine if the ear is floppy or straight up and down.
The one with fox like ears is a strange Ausie cattle dog, but my older ones ears fell in about 2 months of me having him, and i got him at 6 weeks old.
I have never heard of an Australian Cattle Dog whose ears didn’t stand from birth. It is in the breed standard. Are you sure you don’t have an Australian Shepherd, whose ears flop?
(Australian Shepherds are not from Australia.)
