Is Cesar Puppy Dog Food safe for my chihuahua?
ByThe other day I went shopping for new food to feed my 9 month old chihuahua. He loves it, but I’m wondering if the ingredients are safe. I see liver, meat by products, and other things. If it isn’t safe, what dog food do you recommend?

its not a good quality dog food brand
Here are a few that are good: Solid Gold, Wellness, Canidae, Timberwolf Organics, Innova, and Artemis Fresh Mix, there are several more but these are really good foods. They may be a bit pricey initially but they come out cheaper because you feed less. These are 100% human grade dog food with NO corn, wheat, soy, grain fractions, fillers or by products – and naturally preserved.
stay away from:
Pedigree
Purina- this includes, alpo, beneful,
Eukanuba
Science Diet

It’s absolutely not a high quality food. No dog eats less than a Chi, so you can afford to feed the very best, which include: Innova, California Natural, Healthwise, Karma, Prairie, Solid Gold, Organix, Wellness Super5mix, Fromm, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul, Merrick, Taste of the Wild, Canidae ALS, Evanger’s, and Pinnacle.
There is a debate about wet vs. dry, but I believe that dry food is best to feed, especially for small dogs, which are more prone to dental disease. The dry can help keep tartar off the dog’s teeth (though daily brushing is still necessary). Dry is less expensive, and because the water has been removed from the food, you’ll feed less.

So far, you’re getting some great advice! Cesar’s not the way to go. And you are lucky your pup’s a tiny little thing so perhaps you can afford to feed him the cream of the crop

Very easy to read and lots of great tips. There’s also a very detailed dog food comparison chart of all the major dog food brands.
Good luck and enjoy your little baby!

Personally, i do not recommend it. We use Royal Canin products.
