Ears tend to bleed a lot. Apply pressure and try to keep him still. Apply antibiotic ointment and watch for infection. Get him to a vet if you see swelling, redness, or it smells bad.

Sorry hun but you need to get it to a vet fast, or it might get infected and if it dont get treeted fast. He might die.

I would think that losing part of your ear is a big deal. Getting the bleeding to stop would be the first thing you have to do. If you have a vet you use on a regular basis they should be more then happy to give you advise on the phone until you can travel the 200 miles to see them (I find it hard to believe that the closest vet is 200 miles away but if you say so……..). If you don’t have a vet, call the one who is 200 miles away and explain your situation and ask them for some advise. The ear will get infected if not treated properly, pluse it will probably end up looking horrible if not treated properly. This is pretty serious, and should be addressed as soon as possible.

I would definitely confront the owners of the animal and demand to see proof of its immunizations. If they refuse I am sure a quick call to animal control would change their mind. To answer your question, as previously stated, keep pressure on it(firm but not too firm) until the bleeding stops, ears and head wounds tend to bleed freely, but it is not life threatening. I would be if someones dog hurt mine(assuming it was a act of aggression and not play fighting).

Wipe off the blood intill it is no more. Then put it in some warm water for about 3 minutes. Then put somemore of the antibiotic cream on it. And do this about 2 times a day so it can heal and not hurt as much.

If it is still bleeding you should get some syptic powder (sometimes it comes with dog nail clippers), this will stop the bleeding. If you can not get syptic powder, apply pressure until the bleeding stops. Then apply antibacterial ointment. Make sure the dog dog not rip the wound back open, applying a bandage may irritate the dog and cause him to be more aware of the wound. If you do get the powder wait til the powder dries up before you apply any atibacterial ointment.

i had the same problem with 1 of my dogs ears too and i just kept on bathing it with warm salt water and it healed up in no time or you can buy some purple iodine spray and try that it may save you alot of money at the vets
