please help me.. it’s concerning my dog?
Bywhen i got home from work a couple of days ago my mom told me that my dog (which is a poodle) started yelling and screaming.because somehow he just started walking around with his head side ways. and it’s been like that for almost four days now..we took him to the emergency vet and they gave him pills to take because they thought it was strip throat..well he’s still shaking his head because i guess it still bothers him.but i just want to know what’s wrong. i don’t know what else to do. some one help me

The dog needs to go to a different vet who knows what they are doing. I cannot believe a vet just gave you medication for a sore throat with these symptoms. Find another vet and go now.

Go back to the vet tell him something is still wrong and then go to a new one if that one still isn’t being helpful.

I would sue the vet. For sure. That doesn’t sound like strep throat. It sounds like something far more serious. But not to scare you! It doesn’t sound life threatening or anything….Just something that needs a bit more attention than what you were given.

Take him to a competent vet – not all vets are competent and I have met several very incompetent ones in ER clinics. They have killed 3 of my dogs with misdiagnosis.
NOTE : Not all ER vets are incompetent – I have met some very good vets there too, but you need to be an active advocate for your animal – ask, learn don’t expect them to be gods.
Strep throat does not sound reasonable for the behavior. They don’t just start screaming – it’s an infection, they stop eating much and get lethargic.
Shaking head sounds more like an ear problem. You really need a 2nd opinion with a vet you trust.
