There was a tiny black bug stuck on my leg this morning?
Posted by: | CommentsOk, so ironically, I have been horrified by all this “Bed Bug” news lately and did some reading on it yesterday and looked at a bunch of pictures thinking if I was more educated about them I wouldnt have any problems. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Anyway, that really has nothing to do with my question. I woke up this morning and I was folding laundry and I had an itch on the back of my leg, behind my knee in that crease. I scratched it and it got worse so I looked at the mirror behind me and saw a TINY black spot, so i scratched at it and it didnt move and I got a little nervous. I really thought it was just a bee stinger stuck in my leg so I pinched at it to pull it out.. and when I did, it came out and I thought all was good, then I looked at what I pulled out and it was a little tiny red/black bug. My dog was just treated for ticks, but taking care of him I saw quite a few ticks and it did resemble a tick, but it was a whole lot smaller than any I saw on my dog. And I had just looked at bed bug pictures and it really did not look like any of those pictures I saw. But now on the spot on my leg, its very swollen and itchy. I don’t know if there are any dangers here? What else it could have been on my leg? What I need to do now? Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Fleshy growth on black lab?
Posted by: | CommentsMy dog, Persephone (per-sef-a-nee) has a little growth on her front shoulder that Im worried about. First of all, shes not really OLD yet. Shes only 7 or 8, I believe. Also, shes basically in shape. Sure, she could afford to loose a few pounds, but were working on it, taking her on walks every day and cutting back on food portions just a little. My dad found the little…thing when he was petting her one day. We have had a past problem with ticks in our house, and he thought he felt a gorged one on her shoulder. He couldn’t get it off, so he turned on the light and saw that it wasn’t a tick, but a weird growth. It wasn’t very big, like I said, only a little bigger than a gorged tick. It wasn’t tender either.
My dad said that it looks like its getting smaller, but we haven’t checked in a while. Persephone isn’t acting weird either.
Of course, my mind goes to the worst of the worst, like maybe a cancerous tumor. But, it could be like a mole, too.
Any ideas?

Is it time to put my 13 year old black lab down? so confused!?
Posted by: | CommentsMy female black lab has always had a incontinence issue since she was 2 (she got fixed) she was on meds and they seemed to always KINDA work, but now that shes older it not working at all, iv spend a fortune on differnt meds and doctor visits and I just cant keep doing all that anymore, were a family of 4 living on one income that isnt that much and we are just making ends meet they way they are. Cindylou (our dog) is getting so bad to the point that everywhere she lays she gets up and has a huge puddle under her and her butt is soaked with smelly pee! im constently washing her bedding and carpet cleaning the carpets because of her, but she doesnt always just lay in her bed. its been hot and we dont have central air so we have a mattress pad in the living room to stay cool through the humid nights, i left and came home and it was soaked in pee!! she is ruining everything like the bedding and carpets! And then my husband will go tell her to go outside and she just lays there and stares at him and doesnt move, we have to nearly drag her out to go potty. but then again other times she gets so HYPER i will take my son for a bike ride and she will chase after us and try to run along side of us! This is why im confused… she has been with us for so many years and we love her so much. we dont want her to suffer if she is having problems but we also dont want to put her down if shes fooling us with this energy she has. What should we do please give me your best opinions!! and i know it wil cost roughly $100 to put her down and then the cost of a new dog since our kids will be devistated since she is there best friend.. please help!
She is pretty old: about 14 years old. She is an overweight chihuahua and I have not changed her food at all in years.

I am getting a black dog with blue eyes. I have 4 other dogs and their names begin with the letter J. Any suggestions for the new dog. I would like to keep with the J names. But any suggestions would help. Thanks
