How much English does your dog know?

Posted by: | Comments (3)

I actually got this question from this article:

http://pets.yahoo.com/dogs/behavior-and-training/321/does-your-dog-know-english/

Everytime I say “walk”, my dog’s eyes get big and she cocks her head. And everytime I say her name, Cleo, she comes. She also understands “come”, “sit”, “stay”, “down, and “shake”. (She will give you her paw like she wants you to shake it.)
How many commands does your dog understand and how much English?

Here we go Guys. My English is not perfect but I think you’ll understand it :) Please try to comment in english. Would be great :) Love ya Part 1 She was all smiles when her husband brought her a bouquet of her favorite flowers after work. Nick was once again too late and knew exactly how he could make it up for. Miley took the flowers and inhaled the scent of them. She smiled just before she remembered that she was mad at him because he was late again. She looked at him angrily and gave him back the flowers. “Here. You can keep them “she turned and went into the kitchen where a dinner for two was prepared. She began to clear it. “Come on, Miley. My boss didn’t let me go. I couldn’t say no, “said Nick while he was turning her around to face him. He looked at her with his famous puppy dog eyes and smiled innocently. “Maybe you should have married your boss. I’m sure you’d say ‘Yes’ again and everyone would be happy” She wasn’t really mad at him but she refused to say it out loud. And Nick being late every day made her really unhappy. He put his arms around her waist and pressed her gently to himself. “I definitely would not be happy without you. I’m sorry. Really!” he looked her in the eyes and knew she would forgive him. She was his Smiley. She would understand. Miley sighed deeply and took the flowers, “Fine…”she grinned and went upstairs into the bedroom. Nick followed her “Don’t you wanna give me a kiss on my tender Lips?” he grinned “Um…No” Miley was in the middle

She is very skinny she looks really bad they let the puppies nurce for 9 weeks I got her yeasterday and they where still nursing. What is the best thing I can do to get her healthy and happy again? English Bulldog Puppy potty Training?

Posted by: | Comments (4)

So. We have an english Bulldog we just got yesterday. He is a very smart dog so far! He has had a few accidents in the house and we immediatly bring him outside but are careful not to scold him if he has accidents in the house since he is new to the home yet and not completely comfortable with us. However, when we bring him outside we say “Gotta go potty?”

Of course he doesn’t know what this means yet. Almolst everytime we go outside he does some sort of business and we give him lots of praise and a treat “And say good boy!”

However. I am starting to wonder if treats are the best way to handle this. I am worried that by feeding him treats he’ll get the idea that going “potty” Is a good thing and he will want to do it more in the house. I don’t want him to feel like going potty is a reward. So I am wondering if just praising him is the ideal thing to do. He is a three month old pure bred English Bulldog.

So feed him treats immediatly after going outside to potty with lots of praise? OR just lots of Praise after going potty outside?

Thanks,
Any other info and training tips would be great!

We rescued a 5 week old pointer puppy (weighed 4.5 lbs the day we got her) but I am concerned about her weight. She had roundworms. We dewormed her with Drontal. She pooped out adult worms for 3-4 days and then no more. Her fecal was negative at her 8 week check up but we dewormed again to be sure we got everything. She weighed 6 lbs at the 8 week check up. She got her shots with no bad reactions. Her pot belly is gone and I am afraid that she is not gaining enough weight. I know these dogs are naturally lean but I think she should be a little heavier. We feed her 3 times a day and offer her a cup of Pedigree puppy chow at each feeding. She eats every time we offer her food but doesn’t clean her bowl. We also give her Nutrical twice a day (per vet instructions). She is very active, playful, etc. like you would expect a normal puppy to be. Is this normal?

my two year old english bulldog past away lastnight. he got an infection under his neck. but he was still good with eating drinking and play. just like an happy dog. i bought him to the vet yesterday, the doctor did a blood test on him, its an infection. so he gave me 8 pieces of primor antibiotic tablets, he said give him two tabs on the first day, then one everyday. i did exactly what he told me. then about couple hours after my dog took two pills. he started having breathing problems and diarrhea and drooling all over the floor. so i called vet, but they already closed, just when i went back to my room trying to find my cell phone to call the emergency vet office i noticed my dog was already past…. he died in less than 5 minutes after i found out there was something wrong with him. and about the antibiotic pills, i google it says, its 25mg for one pound of dog. and one tablets has 1200mg, and the doctor told me also descrip to give my dog two tablets on the first day. two tabs=2400mg that like for dogs weight 100 pounds, but my bulldog was only 59lbs. if my dog’s death is cause of over taking the antibiotics by my doctor, can i sue my vet?
