Dizzy is finally a year old. Still a puppy. Can’t imagine my life without her.

This is Solo, our German Shepard, my wife is helping him into the truck, his hind legs don’t work like they used to. He always likes to growl and Bark at just about anything (except my wife – He is her Shadow and bodyguard). This video was taken with an average Cannon Powershot 560. We were on vacation in Colorado where this was filmed.

Hi i need a non shedding or little shedding dog of medium-large size. I love golden retrievers and know of some poodle crosses but are there any other types of dogs out there which don’t shed and might look similar to any of the breeds i listed in my question? Thanks!

German Shepard Hip Dysplasia?

Posted by: | Comments (10)

Today I adopted a German Shepard, I was just going through his health records and he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in 2005. Which explains his little struggle standing up. He is 9 years old and a full breed. He looks overweight. The last weight record I saw was 115. Am I still able to take him for walks to drop some pounds? The owner did not mention any problem with his legs but when he laid down on the cement he cried. Just a few minutes ago he was laying down and when I called him to go outside he whined a little while getting up. Will taking him for a walk make it worse? I am completely clueless. I have never owned a large dog or a dog with any problem like this. I feel so terrible for him.

My boyfriend and I adopted a puppy for Valentine’s Day. She’s truly a wonderful dog. We’ve had a great month with her. However, we’ve run into some financial issues with my old roommate who had lived with me before my boyfriend moved in and we’re having to move to a much smaller one bedroom apartment, and the leasing office is not allowing us to move our dog with us. I posted an add on Craigslist. On the site, it says distinctly that you can’t sell animals “but a small adoption fee is ok.” In all honesty, I’m asking $50, but in my post, it clearly stated that the money was not for the dog but for a portion of the money we spent on her getting her spayed and vaccinated, as well as for her kennel, food, and other belongings. They deleted my post and I need to find a good home for her soon. Any tips on finding her a home or does anyone want a cute 8 month old German Shepherd puppy, or know of anyone that might want a puppy? I hate to give her up, but even if we took her, the apartment would most likely be too small for a growing dog. And I DO NOT want to take her back to the animal shelter we adopted her from.

Here’s my post from Craigslist:

(Also, when I posted this, the apartments hadn’t given us a yes or no on allowing a German Shepherd into the complex because of the breed’s size.)

My boyfriend and I recently adopted a German Shepherd puppy for Valentine’s Day. We’ve run into some financial problems and we have to move to a much smaller one bed-room apartment. It would be unfair to coop up our puppy in such a small space. We just want to find her a better home than we can provide right now.

Her name is Penny, but she responds more to baby, so a new name can be easily learned. She’s almost 8 months old. She’s very lanky for her breed. We feed her all the time, she just hasn’t put on weight. The vet has said that it’s nothing to worry about, that she’s healthy, and she may just be a skinny dog. She’s been vaccinated and had her rabies shots, and has been spayed since we got her. Right now, her surgery wound is still healing and she’s got a cone on her head. (She just had surgery last Thursday.) She has lots of energy and her whole butt shakes when she wags her tail. She’s not fully potty trained yet, but we’ve been training her to sit by the door when she needs to be walked. She loves to run! And she loves being chased! Sometimes, we run together down the long hallways of our apartment, and then I turned and chase her and she gets so excited! :-) She also likes cuddling and being very close to people. She’s very curious about other animals and not at all violent towards any that she has encountered. I think it would be great if she had another dog to play with and learn from. And I also think she would do great with children.

The $50 is to cover a portion of the expenses we’ve had for her. Along with her comes a kennel, food/water bowl, bag of food, whatever chew bones she still has left, two leashes, flea and tick treatment, dog shampoo, and all of her paperwork. We really need to find a home soon. So if you would like to meet her, we can arrange a meeting at a park of your choice. If you want a sweet, cuddly companion, look no further.
Okay folks, I didn’t ask for your opinions I asked if anyone had tips or may be interested in adopting her. I live in Flower Mound, Texas just a little north of Dallas. I’m sorry I didn’t state that, I assumed that these posts were localized.

I hate having to give her up but none of you are going to understand my situation no matter how I explain: I need to find her a home, end of story. And I know that people might try to use her for bait. I’m not stupid. Of course I would meet whoever was interested and see how they and Penny interact. But I can’t take her back to the shelter. She WILL die.

I have checked with the shelter and I can re-home her if I choose. Once we got her spayed and vaccinated, the shelter has no concern for her anymore.

I just don’t know what to do and I can’t keep her. We already signed the lease for 6 months, and even if we were able to sneak her into the apartment, it’s about 1/3 of the size of our old two bedroom apartment.

My German Shepherd has diarrhea?

Posted by: | Comments (4)

He is 5 months old. He acts/eats/drinks normally, but he has been having soft stools for a little while.
It is not bloody or anything just soft looking. I feed him Wellness brand dog food. Is this normal?
