i have a female 4 1/2 year old pit bull. 3 months ago i got a male miniature pit bull puppy, who is now 6 months old. they got along fine at first, with frequent breaks from eachother. but recently it is like she completely stopped tolerating him, and is starting to show her teeth at him any time he comes near her. im not sure how to fix the problem, and i need help before he gets bigger and so does the problem.

Unfortunely he got neutered after he went into heat. And of course he was marking our apartment, and after it is done he is humpping people, pillows, and anything he gets ahold of.. Now that he is fixed, will his urge stop or lighten up?

We took our dog Chopper to the vet this morning as he was acting as though he had a bladder infection. Our vet really did not have an answer as to why this is happening … any feedback would be appreciated.

We purchased a miniature daschund puppy from a pet store about 2 months ago and she has been doing well except for the pooping in her crate problem. We take her out several times a day to pee/poop and always make sure that she poops before we leave the house but after we return even as short as 20 minutes later, we usually find that she has pooped in her crate already. We know that she likes the crate for sure because she sleeps in it every night in our room and does not whine or cry when it is bed time. Because she is still a puppy and cannot be left unattended for longer periods of time, we drop her off at a doggie day care when no one can stay home with her during the day on weekdays. On weekends, we are afraid to leave her at home for even an hour because we know for sure that she will poop in her crate. We have read that changing her diet will help as well as giving her a lot of exercise. What kind of food should I put her on? I have no idea what is a “better quality pet food”. Also will obedience training help? I also have a male daschund dog who is about 5 years old and he did not have this problem when he was a puppy so this new puppy is really giving us a tough time. Any advice is highly appreciated.
We have tried both a large crate and a small crate and so far the size of the crate has not helped.

We have a boxer mix and she will be 9 months old on the 6th. When we are home on the weekends she goes out and does her business. That is during daylight hours. We normally get up at 5am throughout the week so needless to say she goes on the floor early mornings on the weekends. It doesnt matter if we let her out at 11 pm or 2 am. Now throughout the week we get home and it smells like a kennel. We have to mop and clean up before we do anything. We have tried the pads and she shreds them. Even if we are gone for a hour or two she still pees!!! We really want to keep her but she is really getting terrible and not improving. Anyone have any suggestions? We have another dog and at this age was potty trained with a accident here and there.
We have tried to crate her. Numerous times. Each time she peed and pooped in the cage, rolled in it, played with it, all over the walls and floor. Also, her nose was raw and bleeding from where she tried to get out.
To the one that says train her apparently she is if she goes out when we are home.

I have a 7 month basset hound. He was mostly having diarrhea when I got him. I took him to the vet when I first got him and he tested positive for hookworms. We had him treated for it and his stool improved a bit, but didn’t go to a normal consistency. Over time, his stool has worsened and he’s been having diarrhea for months now. I’ve taken him to the vet again and had another stool sample which came back negative. They recommend that I change his diet (I’m giving him Frommes puppy food). Is this really the problem though? Lately in the morning I’ve been finding long (2 1/2″) things in his stool. Are they tape worms maybe? He’s also been rubbing his butt on the ground, so I’m guessing it’s itchy. I don’t know the probability of a false negative on a stool test; should I have it redone?

My dog’s anal glands leaked daily so my wife and I decided to get them removed. After her surgery and once she healed she is a completely different dog. She has not grown fur back from the surgery, she is losing fur, she has zero energy and sleeps alot, she has gained weight and does not want to play anymore. My dog is a boston terrier mix and is 5 years old.

Is it possible that the vet gave her to much anesthesia or that the surgery is the cause for this change?

We asked the Vet and he said low thyroid and she went on medication which did not help and then it turned into cushings disease testing and come to find out she may have atypical cushings. I find it to coincidental that she may have atypical cushings and these problems immediately following her surgery.

Perhaps they removed something they should not have during the surgery? Please offer any help or advice. Thank you!
