Posted by: | CommentsMy dog has had a pretty bad ear infection all his life please help, he is 10 years old now, to old to go under anesthesia. he crys everyday trying to scratch it. i need pills that will uninflame his ear. any ideas?
i have gone to a veteranarian and he said that there is nothing they can do because he will have it all his life no matter what, they just cleaned his ear out and thats about it. we did get pills one time and they worked very well, im going to take him to the vet TODAY!!!!!!!
i have gone several times to the vet to get his ears clean, it seems that its just costing me 1000′s of dollars just for them to clean his ears and say theres nothing they can do, last time i went was maybe last year because he has been on these pills that helped him. but now we have to get a percription to get some more.
there is no way my german shepherd will let me clean his ears, if i touched the base or went a little bit inside his ear he would cry.
please help me.. it’s concerning my dog?

Posted by: | Commentsmy apple head chihuahua has an ear infection. im almost 100 percent sure of it. he keeps shaking his head and he squeals when i touch his ears or even close to them (and he never squeals). also theres like a tiny bit of brown stuff on his fur outside his ear. it might just be dirt but im pretty sure its puss or something. anywho, i would take him to the vet but i literally do not have a dollar to my name. im only 16 so i dont have a job yet, and i asked my mom for the money but she doesnt have it either cus her and my dad just separated so times are hard. so is there any home remedies for curing dog ear infections? i feel sooo bad that i cant do anything to help him cus i know its really botherin him. thank you!
Dog heart enlargment! Please help!?
Posted by: | CommentsI have a 7 year old spayed Westie. She was diagnosed with a left side heart enlargment although she shows no symptoms. She only coughs sometimes when running a lot, other than that it’s all fine.Could it be that she was born with this? She is not very active by nature. She also has a narrow trachea (I hope I spelled it right?)but again no symptoms of any kind so far. She sleeps well, has no trouble breathing, totally normal.I live in Sarajevo, Bosnia and they do not do adittional tests here, just told me to come back when she develops the symptoms. I plan to take her to another vet somewhere else and would like to know what adittional test need to be done to determine her condition and is there anything I can do to prevent the symptoms from developing later on in her life?? THANKS SO MUCH!! I really appreciate it.
PS. She is just a bit overweight but does not eat a lot at all, she is just not active and she gained weight after being spayed.
One of my dog’s ears all of a sudden just started bothering her. Please help asap.?
Posted by: | CommentsHi, my mom just got back from walking our dog…about 15 minutes in she started acting like she was experiencing some discomfort in her ear. Shaking her head about constantly as if trying to dislodge something from her ear. She wasn’t even able to get any of her business done outside b/c of this. This happened out of nowhere, she was not exhibiting any behaviour of discomfort until this point. My mom hypothesized that perhaps a bug flew in, even though she has very floppy ears but she had nothing else to go on. I examined the inside of both ears and they look fine. She’s acting normal too, licking us and wagging her tail about. But she’s still shaking her head, and we can tell her ear (we’re not sure which one) is still bugging her. We know her ears are clean, we take her to the vet regularly and they always tell us how clean her ears are. Is it time for another vet visit? Or is it really nothing too serious? We’re also thinking perhaps a bee stung her or something. Really don’t know. Any tips or advice would be helpful though, thanks.
I was doing some research and it seems that allergies triggered by certain foods can cause ear infections. We bought a new dog food yesterday because our usual brand was not in stock… But like I said, this wasn’t something that was building up. It happened all of a sudden when she was outisde. Thanks.
Help! Please, My dog might have worms in his system?
Posted by: | CommentsI played with my dog today, and he’s always so hyper (he’s a beagle), and as he swept his rear on my knee by accident, I felt something moving on my knee. So when I checked, there was a white, short, and sticky worm on it. It was still moving, could it possibly be a tapeworm? it was very sticky… and how quickly is it transmitted to people? Please help!
My little dog has very rotten teeth, some have already fallen out, from the beginning, brushing has not helped at all. I have no money and my only option to not lose him to infection is to try to pull the loose ones out myself, but it’s not going to be easy, I don’t want to hurt him, but have no choice. Any ideas to put him out briefly or to numb his mouth?
My cat was put to sleep on the 3rd, (RIP) please help me cope…*details*?
Posted by: | CommentsMy best friend passed away last Sunday. He was exactly 2 years and 8 months old, a Tonkinese
Platinum Mink Male. His name was Theo or rather Sir Theodore Wilkins Friedman. He had FIP which we treated for about 1/2 a year, but he recently went blind. He wasn’t himself, and was suffering so he was finally put at peace.I loved him soooo much, one of those unconditional love things. I am still just a kid, so this is really hard for me. I was the one to say when he was ready to go, (we were super in synch) which is hard for GROWN UPS. Now I am all screwed up. When I went home after the morning appointment, I just sat on the couch and sobbed. When I tried to breath, all that would come out was a high pitched scream. My mom could barely calm me down. Now over the course of a few days I have been grieving. It is scary, I will open the door and think that I see a flash of white fur go into the bathroom, or Theo’s feet padding on the floor as he walks by, or his meow coming from another room, but there is nothing. And other times I am completely accepting. I was out to lunch today with my mom and we were talking about Theo and how I was doing. We have other pets, two dogs and two cats now, but Theo and I were super close. I told her that I just wanted to be able to just pet and hold. I have a box of stuff of his with some fur and other reminders but it’s not the same. So we decided to go to a local shelter just to keep the animals company. But then I met Tubbs and I fell in love with him. Tubbs is a fat 10 year old cat. I was with him and the other animals, and it made me feel so much better. When we went home, it felt very strange to leave him there. I am still mourning my cat, but I am contemplating whether or not I am ready for Tubbs. My vet tried to make me feel better by saying, “I think Hinduism believes that his spirit will return to you in 40 days,”at the doctor’s office. Even though I am not Hindu, this made me feel that it was ok to get another pet after Theo’s passing, eventually. It has been waaaay less than 40 days, but I have this strange feeling that Tubbs needs me, not in a spiritual kind of way, but as his friend or rescuer. I am not worried of whether or not my family will agree, I am not worrying about that now. I just don’t know if this is just a rebound thing, or if it is real. I have heard that some people find it helpful to get a new pet soon after loss, and that some are the opposite. But still, this is screwing with my head. I want to play it by ear for awhile, but I don’t want Tubbs to be adopted when I am thinking it over. I will probably just visit him a lot, but I still don’t know what to do. Sometimes I get these waves of grief, and other times I feel completely normal. I really want what is best for Tubbs and what is best for me to get over my loss, please help me clear my thoughts. I will always love Theo, I just want to be respectful of his passing. I am sorry this was so long, I am going through a very hard time.
Help With My Dog(s) PLEASE!?
Posted by: | CommentsMy husband and I have a 2 year old Lab/Golden Retriever mix named Daisy. She was a great dog, quiet and fun loving. We moved about a year ago and shortly after adopted a puppy named Belle. We noticed Daisy becoming more tense and aggressive, but never harming Belle. Now she barks at every car that drives by the house and growls anytime there are people outside. I can not walk her because she acts this way, and she is too strong for me to hold onto. She sees dogs or people walking and the hair on her back raises up and she growls and barks at them. If she approaches them she then wants to play, but it frightens the other dog owners or the people and it frightens me! We tried getting her to interact with other dogs on a weekly basis but the other dog owners became intimidated by her behavior and the weekly visits stopped.
Daisy loves having visitors, getting the attention from anyone and everyone, but she scares them before they get through the door, then she is so rambunctious with her greeting that she nearly knocks them over! It makes people afraid to come over if the dogs are not locked away in a room!
Now Daisy has started playing rather rough with Belle. Her hair standing on end, loud growling (which I know to be normal for most dogs to do when playing), and literally grabbing Belle by the mouth, throat, or back of the neck and either shaking her head or dragging her! Belle is a very carefree dog and thinks its fantastic, but it scares me!
Not to mention I am almost 9 months pregnant!
