Posted by: | Comments (8)

My 17 year old dog, Trixie, has some black tar looking junk in her ears, I try to clean them out the best I can, but it always comes back.

What is it and what should I do to get rid of it?

My 6 year-old female chihuahua got a few of her teeth removed last week and every once in a while she’ll just start jolting her head and constantly stick her tongue in and out in the air like she’s licking something for long periods at a time. Also, she coughs alot and will act like she’s gonna throw up. I’m giving her antibiotics the vet gave to me after her surgery. Could it be the reason for her behavior? Is it normal for her to act this way?

I spent a month and £2000 trying to save my 13yo jack russell but he had to be put to sleep on Boxing day.
My other dog a 12.5yo Chihuahua was diagnosed with end stage heart failure 2 weeks ago. He is pining for his friend and has had 5 heart attacks in 2 weeks,The last was this afternoon when we were on the way to the vet The vet says the may be able to give him a few more weeks possibly months, and that between attacks he is not in pain.
It was very hard to decide to have the other dog put down, especially on Boxing day, This time its even harder,
Am I being selfish keeping him alive?
What would you do?

The pads on her front paws are red and look irritated or inflammed. It really seems to get worse when she walks for a long time outside or is outside in the grass, mulch, sand, etc. She preffers to walk on concrete. Is there anything I can do to help this or take care of the chewing and licking?
