Well you’ll first have to Teach him to stick by you and not run away using a leash and not to attack another dog when it gets used to it let it off the leash it a small area to test if he/she has got the hang of it

Why would you want to walk her without a leash? Its illegal in most places anyways to have a dog off-leash.

first you need to train her on a leashto heal so you can correct her if she isn’t doing as needed this will take several months to have her where she can be trusted then you start in a fenced area off leash with as many things to side track her as possible kids running aroung palayi9ng,cats, food ,ets if you are lucky you might have her trained within a year

dogs should not be off the leash unless its a play area or a safe country walk and pinchers will chase and jump fences etc. they have a high chase drive dont take any chances .

Off leash work is not even started until a dog is well into advanced obedience.
You cannot train her on off leash until she is 110% on leash in basic obedience with a lot of other things thrown in. You can train a dog in basic obedience in about 8 weeks or so but it takes lots more practice before a dog would be ready for off leash work.
If she is protective you must keep her on a leash at all time & in some places maybe even muzzled.

Get a training leash they are about 20ft. Take her out every day for about 10-15 minutes and let her sniff around and then say “come” or the command you want and reel her in and make her sit and treat. And repeat. Do this every day until she comes. The real test is take her to an fenced in area with minimal distractions and tell her to come off leash, if she doesn’t you still have to work on it. Keep adding distractions as she gets better and don’t always train in the same area, do it at parks as well. This will take time and I don’t know when you go on vacation but if its soon she won’t be trained. It’ll probably take about a month or so. Keep her leashed otherwise!

weel first treats..that will get his attention but you have to start inside keep him next to you and hold his attention with treats..if he wants to run off show him a treat to keep focused then move from inside to out side in the backyard then to your street only for a very short distance keep doing this and she’ll get the hang of it. reward for good behavior but always have a leash just in case and a collar. This is a pretty hard breed to train so I would start as soon as possible. Good thing its a girl…girls are usually easier to train…no offence to boy dogs!!!!
Hope I can Help and good luck!!!! btw…where are you going???? any exotic place!?! or just to ya parents??? well good luck again and if i cant help you hopefully someone else will!!!!
thank you for adopting a dog!!!

Buy a short leash and take her for a walk everyday to get her used to walking close to you.
If you think its wasting money, maybe you shouldn’t bother. Dogs need things, and things need money.

Training a Minpin to walk without a leash is asking for a dead dog.
This is a breed that ALWAYS needs to be leashed.
Study the breed you own. They are stubborn and voracious vermin hunters. The first time anything moves, your dog is gone. The result would be either death from exposure (they don’t weather the night outside very well), death by being prey to something bigger (like a coyote), or death by being run over by a car.
ALL Minpin rescue groups require their adopted dogs to either have fenced yards or ALWAYS be on a leash. They don’t require this for no good reason. Too many animals have died because owners think they can train this breed off leash.
A reputable breeder would not sell a dog to someone who is not going to keep the animal safe. That includes being leashed at all times.
Consider this: if you are going on vacation with her and she gets loose, she will have no way of knowing where you are and you will lose her forever. Even dogs who are familiar with the area they live in can have a hard time identifying their own property, especially if they have never been off it.
You are tempting fate to do something bad that you will regret.
