What can i do to keep my dog from shedding so much?
ByI have a little jack russel chihuahua mixed pup and she’s a little over a year old now. We brush her daily but we still seem to be finding more clothes rugs furniture and goodness knows what else that are now white because they are caked from her fur. I don’t know what to do anymore but I was wondering whether there was some type of shampoo or something that will lower her shedding.

She might have a skin condition you should take her to the Vet. If the Vet says there’s nothing wrong then just continue brushing her but try to do it more than once a day or bathe her more often.
Hope this Helps!! =)

There are types of shampoos you can use. I have a rottweiler/black lab mix and we use a special shampoo for her. It work’s very well. However, she still sheds– just not as badly. Here’s a link to the Petco site for the shampoo we use:

What brand of dog food are you feeding her? A premium dog food with no corn, wheat or soy and which also contains omega fatty acids and eggs would surely help with the shedding problem. I feed my dogs Blue (a premium dog food) which addressing shedding. Of course all dogs will shed, but with health skin and coat there will be less shedding.

You can’t really. Short haired dogs shed a ton of hair. You can give fish oil, salmon oil or virgin coconut oil with food to keep skin/coat healthiest & feed a quality food. Cheaper food with corn & wheat & other fillers will caste more shedding due to poorer nutrition.
