Brush brush and brush. If you are brushing well enough and often enough you are brushing the loose hair out of the coat so there will be little for her to shed.

High quality dog food. Brush daily
I feed my dog Iams and found that when I switched to Iams premium that she shed a lot less. I ended up going back to the regular Iams but added Omega 3 to it or sometimes just olive oil and that helps her coat a ton! You can buy shed less type vitamins or just the oils to put on top of the food and they contain fish oil/Omega 3′s which are good for their coats.

Brushing – you cannot eliminate shedding. Hair in the brush is hair not all over the home.

Daily brushing. Consult a groomer for the best tool for your dog’s hair. They always have helpful hints.

Brushing is the best way. You can’t eliminate shedding if that’s her characteristic, but you can reduce it by properly grooming her.

you’re not going to completely eliminate hair.. dogs shed.
You can reduce or controll it by feeding a good diet
Brush her daily.. use an undercoat rake.. use one hand to brush the coat backwards to expose the undercoat, then use the rake to get the loose hairs.
A conditioning bath will also loosen hairs.. brush the dog well, lather the dog up well, getting down to the skin.. rinse well.. then brush the dog again. Dont bathe more than once a month, or when dirty tho.

Dogs fed a poor quality food tend to shed more. Raw fed dogs shed the least.
If diet isn’t the issue, it could be a health reason like thyroid problems. A thryoid panel can rule out any issues and is fairly inexpensive.
If its normal shedding for this time of year and your dog is a breed that has a lot of hair, try the Furminator! It is well worth the money and works great!

Brush and comb the dog daily. I’m a professional groomer, I’ve tried all the gadgets and this is still the best way.

I was very doubtful, but I bought the Defurminator because we sold them at the veterinary clinic where I worked and some of the staff raved about it. It is AMAZING! It worked so well removing the excess undercoat of my dog that she barely sheds anymore.
It works best on double coated dogs, I just comb her with it occasionally and it does the trick.

A way to reduce a dogs shedding is go to petsmart and buy a furminator. A furminator is only about $20.

Brushing of course, but also if you take him/her to a groomer to have him/her bathed and HAND BLOW DRIED – that will get a lot of the undercoat out.

i have a double coated pannish and a border collie, I bought the furmanator, it works wonders! gets deep and rids the under coat!
PLUS a GOOD high quality of food! healthier coat less pooh, and its cause the body metabolizes the nutrients better in a higher quality food!
Hop i helped sum

Ha – know the feeling! My Lab didn’t seem to shed very much. When we added a Entlebucher (still can’t pronounce it..), four years ago, I suddenly have to vacuum 2 or three times a week to keep up with the “tumbleweeds”. He is 20 pounds lighter than the Lab, 5 is just the undercoat. I have never had a dog with a double coat before. I may avoid it in the future.
My son talked me into getting one of those pricey shedding tools. It’s got two combs – a wide comb to loosen the undercoat, and a fine comb to get the undercoat out. Normally once a week keeps things under control, but in spring and fall – daily is more like it. It’s either off the dog or off the floor.
