Milk Bones. Raw hide is bad. They don’t digest it and it tears them up on the way back out

i heard that to keep your dog’s teeth clean is to brush them once a week.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

The very best way is to start with clean teeth- so- if your pet has tartar build up- get a dental at your vet- then get a dog toothbrush and toothpaste kit and brush at least 3x weekly

The answer to this is multi-part. If your dog already has a lot of tartar build-up the only way to remove it is to have the vet do a cleaning. All dogs need these from time to time.

To keep it away once the teeth are clean, brushing teeth using a brush and toothpaste for dogs is effective and chewing on Nylabones and other dental toys is good. Rawhide is not good. It gets soft when chewed and if swallowed can become an intestinal obstruction.

Pretty much anyting that gets your pet chewing will help. Greenies and other dental chews are good. There are even specil diets that can help clean teeth. Rawhides are in my opinion not that great they can be very harsh in the tummy and intestinal tract.

Rawhides will keep their teeth clean, but you also run the risk of them choking on them.

You could try a nylabone. They are stronger than rawhides, come in different flavors, and satisfy their need to chew as well as their keeping their teeth clean!

Some people I know actually brush their dogs teeth…

Nope they only irritates the throat and will make your dog eat grass and throw up! So i use a brush and a recommended toothpaste and though your dog wont like it, its worth it!!

NOOO!!!! rawhide is terrible. use greenies or cooked marrow bones (from butcher) and that will work great. my dog also loves carrots and they are healthy and keep his teeth sparkling.

The best thing to keep a dogs teeth clean is feed him kibble ( dry dogfood) It will naturally clean his teeth from any tarter build up or any debri that may be lodged between the teeth.
Rawhide is NOT good for dogs. It can cause severe vomiting, diahrea as well as many other ailments. Some dogs can eat it and not have any problems others very violent ones.

Dentabone. It is a mint chewy thing and when the dog chews the waxy materiel it cleans his teeth.

I’ll probably end up with a bunch of thumbs downs here, but, I’ll stick my neck out anyway.
Milk bones don’t clean teeth, rawhides are bleached, get soft, and can cause obstruction if the dog swallows them whole, Greenies are causing LOTS of problems in dogs, they swallow chunks of them which don’t move through the intesines and are having to be surgically removed. I don’t like the idea of giving my dogs nylabones, they are PLASTIC, if they swallow chunks of them you end up at the vet’s.
So, if your dog has a lot of tarter buildup you should start with a cleaning. Then I recomend giving them RAW beef knuckle bones. You want to get the big ones, too big for them to swallow whole, never cooked.
Once a week I give them to my dogs, and I supervise while they have them. I have a 14 year old Afghan, a nine year old, a 7 year old and a 4 year old, I have NEVER had to have their teeth cleaned, the 14 year old’s teeth are as clean and bright as the day she grew them in, as are all the others.
If I see a bit of tarter that the bones missed I take a tooth scaler and scrape it off.

I read people advising you to give greenies to your dog…Don`t it`s a deadly treat.

brushing once a day. You can also use gause to wipe after feeding. Kibble or hard food included in diet. and chews like “bully sticks” My pup loves them, they last for days and are fully digestable. Rawhides are a NO-NO.
