puppies eyes change color.. you cannot guarantee that those blue or green eyes will not turn brown.

eye color shouldnt be a determining factor in selecting a dog breed anyways.

All puppies are cute and have nice eyes, but that should NEVER be a factor.

Basically you are looking at Siberian Huskies or Alaskan Malamutes, but since you’ve ruled them out, no puppy. Those are about the only breeds with blue/green eyes. Huskies and Malamutes are not good dogs for a novice dog owner, anyway.

But if you change your mind and decide other colors are fine, save a life and get a dog, doesn’t have to be a puppy, since they don’t stay puppies long anyway. Adults are much more loyal and easier to train.

Right now I have such a gorgeous dog. Her mother was a purebred Golden retriever and her father was a rottweiler. She’s like a big, black golden retriever. Her eyes are such a pretty brown. They stand out a lot. So one of those breeds would be good, or a crossbreed between two very well bred parents.

Since eye color is your determining factor in getting a breed of dog for yourself, I strongly urge you to consider this one. It really has lovely eyes that are blue!

my jet black engllish cocker spaniel has really pretty eyes.
my dog has blight honey brown/redish eyes

I don’t know about blue or green colors, but my cocker mixes’ eyes are so cute and darling and sad looking look at pictures on google. I’ve heard about a great dane with sky blue eyes but I don’t think that they are “small to medium” hahaha

I have to give you a herd time about selecting a dog for it’s eyes.
Never.
You should select a dog that fits you personality and activity level.
Huskies can have blazing blue eyes. But they are unlikely to cuddle on the couch, they are not sweet and cuddly. They are aloof even with their owners. They need tons of exercise or they will eat your couch, rather than lie on it.
Pit bulls, Jack Russell’s, Weimaraners, Australian Shepherds, all high energy dogs. Pits and J.R.T. need an experienced trainer as they are difficult to control.

Nice eyes won’t mean much if you can’t stand to look at the dog as it is so annoying.

yea, my favorite type of dog is a husky, they are not much bigger than a lab, and they are great guard dogs, good with kids, but not really other dogs, and they have absolutle gorgeous eyes. i recomend huskys, but not if you want a smaller dog, here is a link…

http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory/dogs/BreedMatch/

you can use this site to find a small dog with different factors, then choose one with pretty eyes, but first find breeds good for your lifestyle, instead of choosing a dog based on eyes.
make sure the dog will be happy.
good luck :)
plz look at the link, its easy.

It’s unfortunate that you want a puppy based on eye colour alone. My suggestion to you is to take a walk through your local shelter and look at all the dogs there. Some of the crossbreeds have amazingly coloured eyes and may be exactly what you’re looking for. Wouldn’t that be nice, you get a pup with awesome eyes and you saved a life at the same time.

23

as far as i know you cant get that colour in a smaller dog unless some how it is crossed with a husky in the first place anyway i have to rottweilers and i think they have nice eyes but that is not why i picked them i love rottweilers on there nature

24

I think King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, there big, usually brown, but some have blue, and they have that sad look on their face when you don’t play with them or you don’t take them home, that’s how my puppy gets what he wants, because of his eyes.

i would go with a husky…but get one from your local paper not a show breeder you would be wasting money on one of their pups..

They dont have blue/green eyes, but theyre eyes are so loving and in them, you can see the passion they have for you.
