Canidae – All life Stages and Wellness Lamb and Rice- those are both 5 star dog foods according to DogFoodAnalysis and I’ve got my dogs on them and it’s done wonders as far as coat, skin, pooping, and general health goes.

2

I would say the herring and sweet potatoe. I don’t personally use that brand, but I do use another with those ingredients and it works well.

3

Of the ones listed, my dogs do best on the Solid Gold.

4

Innova and California Natural are made by the same company – Natura – which makes all high quality products. Innova was a bit rich for my dogs – too high in protein – but California Natural (I feed the chicken variety) has been great.

Wellness also gave my dogs digestive problems – again – too high in protein.

There are online sites (such as dogfoodanalysis) that favor the superpremium foods with high protein but I have found (and discussed with two vets that I know) that these foods often are too rich for dogs that are not high energy working dogs that expend a lot of energy working every day.

5

Nature’s variety – frozen raw.

Closest commercial brand to a raw diet, and on days we’re too busy to prepare stuff for our miniature pinscher, we give her the raw rabbit one.

6

well I know that Wellness was the best brand you can buy but I’m not sure if it is anymore. I still feed my dog Wellness and it’s made him a much healthier dog, and his coat is gorgeous.

7

Wellness
But if you want a grocey store brand try Purina:Kibbles ‘n’ Bits
My dog eats that and hes a healthy happy 5 yr. old….

His eyes are blue cuz of the flash!
But i think those are good

I’ve found that Lamb usually produces the best results.

9

Canidae from the above list, but I prefer Orijen.

10

I personally like Canidae. My dog’s coat is so soft and shiny. It looks like her coat is made of strands of silk instead of fur. When I first adopted her, her coat was crispy and damaged by the sun, but now it is so soft and beautiful. She’s also a very healthy dog.

One should consider that dogs evolved with people food not some special diet manufactured from waste products of chicken processors. The cheapest dry stuff will suffice if you give the doggy some of your breakfast or lunch.
The hype about feeding them only commercial food is just that!
When you give your dog a piece of your meal you are giving love.

12

Nature’s variety because it is probably mostly from nature and won’t have anything bad in it that might make your dog throw up or have diarrhea. It is important for your dogs heath to be okay. Their food depends a lot on their health. Nature’s variety might have less preservatives and other things that are bad for your dog.

You want a dog food that is clean–no preservatives, artificial colors or fillers. Some dog food companies make claims of being Natural, but they are not! I like brands that are clean such as IAMS (Petsmart carries), SCIENCE DIET (Petsmart carries) and other allergy-free brands from the vet office.

my vet suggested using Science Diet they actually sell it right at the vet office and also at many large stores. It is a little more expensive but my vet told me that lamb and rice is the best for being gentle on a dogs stomach. Stay away from the vegtable dog foods. A dog is a natural meat eater. The perfect diet for a dog is raw hamburger but if someone were to feed this they would have to gradually feed it to a dog to get them use to it.

My dealer recommended Canidae 4 years ago.( He carries only the above holistic dog foods, and feeds Canidae himself)
The most immediate change I noticed, was their teeth. My 6 dogs range in age from 7 months to 12 years. They all have sparkling white teeth, without ANY brown spots. This is without any cleaning.
The next thing, was when I went to a new vet. He couldn’t believe my oldster was as old as she is. He brought out her blood-work to show me her blood values were that of a 4-5 year old. He commented on her teeth, stating he had never seen a dog of her age with teeth in such good condition.

I raised a beautiful litter on it, and it seems truly for all life stages.
It may not be the right food for all dogs, though, as my breed does well with the high protein and fat levels. They also need support for their massive coats.
I have to watch my smaller terrier mix’s weight with it. However, at 9 years, she is still very playful.

All those foods you’ve listed are excellent foods. All those foods are beneficial to your dogs skin and coat and for your dogs well being of proper nutrition. If it were me I’d choose one of those that you think your dog would like the best. I tend to switch the food brands around so my dogs don’t get bored and they get different nutritional and protein levels from all the different foods. I feed all my dogs Wellness, Innova, Merrick, and Eagle Pack Holistic Select.

These are all good brands and it’s great you’re willing to choose the best. Check out radiantpet.com. Our dog loves this food. I don’t think you’ll go wrong with any on your list, though.
